Yes! We attended a Zoom seminar coupla years back by Professor Robyn Jorgensen from Griffith University in Australia who led this study/research. Her four-year project, "Early-Years Swimming: Adding Capital to Young Australians," surveyed parents of 7,000 children across Australia, New Zealand, and the US. The results showed that children who swam before age five were significantly ahead of their peers in several developmental areas:15 months ahead in understanding directions11 months ahead in oral expression6 months ahead in mathematical reasoning2 months ahead in reading skillsSwimming does more than build physical skills. It engages coordination, rhythm, and body awareness, all of which are connected to brain development.Movements in water require timing, control, and focus. These patterns activate areas of the brain linked to language, memory, and learning.Studies have found that children who swim early often show advanced readiness when they enter school, including stronger early reading and number skills. It is not just about safety. It is a form of early stimulation that supports how the brain processes and learns.Sometimes the advantage does not come from more study. It comes from how the brain is developed before learning even begins.#dailyzone #swimming #fblifestyle #learning #kids ... See MoreSee Less

At Swim Movements, we believe the best learning happens through play. Watch our little swimmers mastering backstroke while balancing a squishy toy on their head, building body awareness, confidence, and technique all at once! Because when learning feels like fun, progress comes naturally.#swimmovement #LearnThroughPlay #sgkidsactivities #sgswimschool #SGParents ... See MoreSee Less

SWIM Movement
Last week, we held our first session with St. Andrew’s Autism Centre (SASS) under the GoodSpace programme — a meaningful moment as Swim Movement returns for our second year of involvement. We are grateful to be invited once again to run our aquatic programme for Term 2 and Term 3, continuing a partnership that means so much to us.GoodSpace is a twice-weekly initiative for adults with moderate to severe autism who are not currently receiving post-18 services. Thoughtfully designed for both clients and caregivers, it offers a safe, supportive environment where individuals can continue to learn, grow, and engage meaningfully beyond their school years. This year, we have added a hydrotherapy component to complement our aquatic activities — promoting relaxation, movement, and sensory enrichment through water-based therapy. At Swim Movement, we believe in creating space — a GoodSpace where everyone, including staff, teachers, and students, can learn, grow, and feel at ease in their own way and at their own pace.In the water, progress takes many forms. Each one matters, each one deserves to be celebrated. No rush, just steady progress — one session, one stroke, one smile at a time. With World Autism Awareness Day recently passed, it is a moment to reflect on the importance of spaces where individuals can continue to grow, feel supported, and be themselves. Here’s to a fulfilling year of meaningful sessions ahead. #WorldAutismAwarenessDay #SASC #SwimMovement #GoodSpace #SwimForAll Hydrotherapy InclusionMatters ...
