Tips to prevent Sinus problems while swimming!!! www.facebook.com/share/r/1BQ2Qq44fe/?mibextid=wwXIfr ... See MoreSee Less

Tips to prevent sinus problems while swimming Many parents ask me if their children can go swimming if they have a cold or if they have allergic rhinitis.. well here is the answer 😊 Above are a few tips to prevent sinus infections 1. Use antihistamine or steroid nasal sprays before swimming if your child has allergies. These medications are taken 15-30 minutes before swimming. 2. Nasal decongestants like Oxynase can be given to a child who is having a cold or recovering from a cold. Spray 10-15 minutes before swimming. 3. Rinse your child's nose with saline after swimming 4. Keep them warm after swimming by wrapping a towel once out of the pool. 5. Quickly take a shower to rinse off all the chlorine from their hair and body. 6. Take plenty of fluids after swimming. This can help thin out mucus in the nose and help the sinus drain better. 7. Wear nose plugs to prevent water entering the nose. Hope this helps !
